Dia De Los Muertos Museum

The Museum is located inside Fiesta At North Star® building on the east wing of the second level (Elevator Available to Second Floor). The Museum is the culmination of our company’s work and service for the past 30+ years. We wanted to share a little bit of our experiences and unique art to all of San Antonio and the World with a Dia De Los Muertos twist. Dia de Muertos is one of the few Mexican traditions that goes deep into Mexico’s soul and history, so we decide to showcase it to fully showcase Mexico as a country, its art, and people. All the decorations and handmade art pieces are from our own private collection which we have spent more than 26 years collecting and curating. Some of the pieces are from Master Artists in Mexico or artist that have discontinued their work. Our Dia De Muertos permanent exhibit is a sensory experience with light effects and pre-Columbian music that will take you back in time to explain the tradition’s complex history. You will then return to present time where you will visit our 13 unique and detailed ofrendas (altars) dedicated to different people. In our main gallery, Catrina, our virtual video guide, will explain Dia de Muertos’ details and explain how it is being celebrated today. If you catch the live performance (check for availability for the day), you will get an emotional interpretation of “La Llorona” song. Finally, you will have an option of watching a “Discover Mexico” video that portrays Mexico’s beautiful heritage beyond Dia de Muertos. All segments of the video presentations and live performances last up to 40 mins but you can skip any of them, as this is a self-tour, or stay if you missed one.
