Centro de Artes

Located in the heart of downtown in Historic Market Square, Centro de Artes gallery is a two-story exhibit space dedicated to telling the story of the Latino experience in the United States with a focus on South Texas through local and regional art, history and culture, and showcasing Latino artists and Latino-themed artworks.

Centro de Artes is an institution dedicated to telling the story of the Latino experience in the U.S. with a focus on San Antonio and South Texas through local and regional art, history and culture, and dedicated to sharing the transnational experience of Latinos in the U.S.

We present a full season of solo and group exhibitions and programming annually through an open call managed by the City of San Antonio Department of Arts and Culture. We support both emerging and established Latino artists, curators, organizations and community groups working in all disciplines.

Centro de Artes does an open call for curators and artists to whose work represent themes within Latino/Hispanic/Tejano/Chicano heritage and focus. The Centro de Artes Curatorial Committee reviews and evaluates those proposals based upon artistic merit, suitability of the project to its viewing location and the curator’s experience and qualifications.
